Within the scope of the Trabzon Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP), the “Assessment of Scenarios and Measures” workshop was completed on February 12, 2025.
The meeting, attended by more than 100 stakeholders from various institutions and organizations, focused on presenting the alternative scenarios identified within the Trabzon SUMP process and putting forward measure (action) packages for voting.
The event began with the opening speech of Mr. Gürkan ÜÇÜNCÜ, Secretary General of Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality. Afterwards, the Project Team reviewed the phases and overall process of the Trabzon SUMP. During the session on “Presentation of Alternative Scenarios”, participants were introduced to the strategic directions and scenarios designed for Trabzon’s transport future. As part of the Strategic Objectives Weighting exercise, stakeholders identified the priority objectives that should be emphasized in line with Trabzon’s sustainable mobility vision.
One of the key stages of the meeting was the “Voting on Measures” session, where five alternative scenarios were evaluated. Participants shared their views on measures such as developing public transport, implementing intelligent transport systems, promoting environmentally friendly mobility solutions, and encouraging non-motorized transport. The measure packages were presented with examples and detailed explanations, after which participants provided their evaluations.
In the final session of the workshop, the process of prioritizing measures was completed, and the roadmap for the next phases was shared with stakeholders. The Trabzon SUMP stakeholder engagement process will continue in the upcoming stages with more detailed technical studies and action-oriented workshops.
