“Thematic Workshops” held on 24-25 April 2024 within the scope of SUMP For Trabzon Stakeholder Engagement Activities.

Sustainable Urban Mobility Plans (SUMPs) are projects that prioritize stakeholder engagement. In this context, thematic workshops have been organized throughout the SUMP for Trabzon project to allow all stakeholders in the city to express their ideas and recommendations.

The workshops were conducted in six sessions across six thematic areas. Each session began with a brief introduction to the project, followed by the presentation of data related to Trabzon. During each session, problems related to the session’s theme were identified and classified; the classified topics were then distributed to tables, where possible solutions were discussed. The tables subsequently presented their proposed solutions. Additionally, word suggestions were collected during the sessions to support the next step of defining the vision.

Thematic Workshops, held in a total of six sessions with 231 participants, proved to be a successful activity in identifying areas for improvement in the city and developing possible solutions for them.

The SUMP for Trabzon Project, initiated and ongoing under the Sector Operational Program for Transport (USOP), will continue its process based on inclusivity, incorporating contributions from all stakeholders across the city.
